This regional blend is comprised of coffees grown by hundreds of farmers throughout the Nariño region and is a true representation of the region’s unique characteristics.
Nariño is Colombia’s southernmost coffee growing region, boarding Ecuador to the south and the region of Cauca to the north. Coffees from Nariño are known for their sparkling acidity and depth of sweetness, and it’s the regions unique geography and climate conditions that contribute to this profile. The dramatic slopes and valleys that comprise the landscape in this region have direct effect on the temperature modulation that creates these high-acidity, super sweet coffees: Warm, humid air collects in the lowlands during the day and creeps gently up the mountainsides at night, a combination that allows coffee to thrive at much higher altitudes than most of the rest of the country, as much as 2,300 meters above sea level.
This coffee is great representation of Nariño’s unique flavor profile, with sparkling grapefruit acidity and notes of stone fruit.
