Head Chef: Portland Location

Born in Melbourne, Australia, we opened our first US location in Portland 3 years ago, and have achieved great community support and industry accolades in this short time. Having been featured Eater38 and nominated by Bon Appetit as one of the 50 best new restaurants in America, our cuisine is fun, fresh and elevated!
The right candidate for this role will have experience in operating a large, high volume kitchen, producing smart, delicious and high quality meals. We have always believed in having a Head Chef who is still (on the tools) in service; working the line and engaging with staff, but competent in organization and administrative duties. Being an inspirational leader who can motivate and drive staff to achieve their best.
The right candidate is going to be someone capable of training staff on all aspects of recipe and execution of dishes, and also the follow up quality control necessary for consistent excellence.
Creatively, we are looking for a Head Chef with an interest in fresh, colorful and unique cuisine which complements the menus of our past, and references the Australian café fare which put us on the map. The role will require experience in writing and costing menus, managing stock inventory and COGS, overseeing all kitchen operations for compliance, and to ensure we have a clean, efficient and organized kitchen and team.
The Head Chef will report directly to the General Manager and is the direct report for all kitchen staff. Must be flexible, hardworking and highly adaptable to changing culinary landscape!
