Bruju Finca, founded in 2015 in Pluma Hidalgo, a historic coffee region with Denomination of Origin, aims to revive the area by growing high-quality specialty coffees. The region faced a series of crises over the past 30 years, including low coffee prices, the 1994 peso collapse, Hurricane Paulina in 1997, and coffee rust in 2014. Producer, Kyle Dromgoole, focuses on the sustainable production of traditional coffee varieties like Pluma Hidalgo, Geisha T2722, Pacamara, and others. His production philosophy is based on regenerative agriculture, economic sustainability, and conservation of the Oaxacan cloud forest on his farm. We cupped this incredible lot during our visit to Oaxaca in April 2024. This seed stock is of Panamanian origin, ensuring good pedigree, and it was processed using a 72-hour lactic fermentation before being finished as a honey.Â
